Transportation Options

Yosemite Sierra Summer Camp is located approximately 40 miles northeast of Fresno, California, off Highway 41. Parents have the option of dropping off and picking up their child at camp or taking advantage of one of our charter buses from Southern California (Orange County, Los Angeles/Pasadena, Valencia), or flying their child to the Fresno Air Terminal.
Charter Buses
Charter Buses transport campers from Southern California under YSSC staff supervision. This is the most popular way for campers to get to and from camp. The fee for the charter bus is $75 one way or $150 round trip. Buses are comfortable with air-conditioning and bathroom. Seating is reserved on a first come, first served basis- so don’t delay.
Orange County Bus -- NEW DROP OFF AND PICK UP LOCATION at IRVINE'S GREAT PARK AS OF 7/22/2010
The bus picks up campers at the Great Park in Irvine. Please click here for transportation details. Sunday Departure: Check-in 8:30am. Bus leaves promptly at 9:00am. Friday Arrival: Approximately 3:30pm. Bus ride is approximately 7 hours including a stop for lunch*.
Pasadena Bus
The bus picks up campers at the L.A. Arboretum on North Baldwin in Arcadia. Sunday Departure: Check-in 9:45am. Bus leaves promptly at 10:15am. Friday Arrival: Approximately 2:30pm. Bus ride is approximately 6 hours including a stop for lunch*.

Valencia Bus
The bus picks up campers at Hilton Garden Inn on Magic Mountain Parkway. Sunday Departure: Check-in 10:00am. Bus leaves promptly at 10:30am. Friday Arrival: Approximately 1:30pm. Bus ride is approximately 5 hours including a stop for lunch*.

Bay area Train
Our Staff will meet campers at Jack London Square Amtrak train station.
Sunday Departure: Check-in: 9:30am. Train leaves promptly at 10:05am.
Friday Arrival: Approximately 4:15pm. Train ride with drive to camp is approximately 5 hours including lunch*. The fee for a supervised train ride is $60 one way and $120 round trip.

*Campers need to bring spending money for lunch on the way to camp. Lunch is provided for campers on the way home from camp.
Air Travel
Many Yosemite Sierra Campers travel from outside California and overseas. Our campers fly into Fresno Air Terminal (FAT), where a uniformed staff will meet them when they arrive and collect their luggage for transportation to camp. The airport shuttle to camp is approximately 1 hour. The fee for this shuttle service is $20 one-way and $40 round trip. Please plan your arrivals between 10 am and 2 pm on the first and last day of the session.
Driving to Camp
We invite parents to drive their children to camp on the first and/or last day of camp. First day registration is from 2:00-4:00 pm. Meet your child’s counselor and take a tour of camp. Campers should be picked up from 8:30-10:00 am on the last day of camp.
Transportation Safety Guidelines
When transporting campers to/from camp, Yosemite Sierra Summer Camp observes the following guidelines:
- Campers are never left unsupervised.
- Campers are only released to individuals that have been authorized by the camper's guardians.
- Campers are not allowed to switch between the buses/shuttles at any point during the duration of the trip.
- Role is taken after loading and prior to departing from any stop during the trip.
- Staff remains at the drop-off location until all campers have been picked up.
